The house where Pablo Picasso was born in 1881 is located in a building of 1861. The museum includes an important collection of his graphic and ceramic works, as well as a sketchbook for the “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” painting, with an elaborate exhibition programme centered on the artist. There’s also a nineteenth century hall-study that recreates the environment of Picasso’s first years. Particularly noticeable are a painting by his father, José Ruíz Blasco, various family belongings and original photographs of when the family lived in Malaga.
