Farmhouse where Cervantes lived after marrying Catalina de Palacios. It belonged to D. Alonso Quijada Salazar, a relative of the writer’s wife, who seems to have served as inspiration for the character of D. Quixote. It conserves its original features, including beamed ceilings, grates, the press, the stable, the cellar, the cave and the stone courtyards. There are two floors: the first with typical Castilian kitchen, pantry and hallway, and the Interpretation Center. The second floor houses the living room, the library, the bedrooms, another kitchen and a sewing room. The Museum conserves copies of documents related to Cervantes’s contemporaries who are reflected in his works, as well as his marriage certificate.
