Villa where cellist Pau Casals lived until 1939, when the outcome of the Spanish Civil War forced him to go into exile. It was conceived as a vacation house and then enlarged at the beginning of the thirties. It conserves some elements of the original furniture, the art collection and the personal belongings of the musician. It includes the visit to the dining room, the kitchen and two rooms, in addition to an interesting collection of musical instruments, of Catalonian works of art from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and of an important documentary archive. The museum is 20 minutes away from Tarragona and one hour away from Barcelona. In front of the sea, on the San Salvador seafront promenade, it’s an unique place to visit.
