The Museum recreates the atmosphere of the nineteenth century student hostel in which Perez Lugín’s novel “La Casa de la Troya” takes place. The building, erected in the eighteenth century, has three floors that were dedicated to guests (reception, dining room, living room, respect room and bedrooms), plus the attic, where the kitchen and the landlady’s room were located; and the basement, formerly the stables, and currently exhibiting a collection of memorabilia of La Tuna Compostelana. Most of the furniture was purchased from the family of the rector D. Jacobo Gil Villanueva, who inspired the character of D. Servando. It conserves medical instruments, photographs, paintings and various objects which belonged to some real people reflected in the work, as well as a remarkable historical library.
